What is Oil Paint?

Conventionally, the primary agent used to bind pigment in non-glazed paintings was linseed/stand-oil. This color becomes non-soluble once it is dried, and can be exposed to the atmosphere without any effect. Sadly, the full dryness of oil consumes a good deal of time and hence modern artists prioritize ACRYLIC paints that are soluble in water until dried, which can happen only hours after application.
