A. Rajeshwara Rao was born in 1960, in Vizaingaram. From early childhood his passion for arts and creativity has helped him to achieve the fame and awards. His Amma (Mother) has been an inspiration for him. Later he was married to Padma and is blessed with two bright sons namely Rishi and Shree. Along with his family he dedicates his success to his Guru Shree Laxma Goud. He is a true artist by heart and paints his interpretations of different people and their stories.
Education & Work
Apart from painting, he was a good student in his childhood. A. Rajeshwara Rao has completed his Bachelor’s degree at Andhra University, Waltair, in 1983. He pursued his Master’s degree at Central University, Hyderabad, in 1990. During his student days he was fond of participating in several solo and group shows.
A. Rajeshwara Rao has always been focused on transitions of society and his paintings reflect the same. He has plethora of works and his creativity reminds us about the impact of incredible influence popular media we have on our culture. All his paintings are been done with quaint and humorous manner.
Painter Raoportrays everyday people in a simple manner and tries to explore people’s ambitions. With his demonstrations and his psychological desires all his creations become wonderful, quirky and unique. His art work as his views and expressions towards society and his artistic vibrant palette shares a strong dynamic message to the society.
Recently one of his shows was held at Gallery Espace in, New Delhi, in 2008. In 2002 he has participated ‘The Deccan Connections’ at Apparao Art Gallery in New Delhi. A show called ‘The Human Factor’ became popular when he participated at the Guild Gallery, Mumbai, in 2001. In 2002 he participated in ‘Human Form and Art’ at Lalit Kala Akademi, in New Delhi.
Awards and Accolades
A Rajeshwara Rao has been felicitated with lots of accolades and awards. All his works have managed to grab the eyeballs from critic and art lovers. The messages are very prominent and within the short period of time he has become one of the desired painters in the country. In 1999, he won Camlin Art Foundation, in Bangalore, Karnataka. A Rajeshwara Rao was one of the painters in India who have won Junior Fellowship, from Government of India. The best part is that he has won the fellowship for consecutive three years from 1993 to 1995. In 1991, he bagged National Scholarship and he was one of the fortunate to get such prestigious scholarship for creativity. Mahakoshal Kala Parishad has awarded him in 1985.
